About Us

First of all, thank you for visiting Social Pitstop! It means a lot to us that you've taken interest in our project.

From an idea stemming years ago, Social Pitstop was created with the purpose to make find sport and social activities easily. A one stop for all your social needs instead of scouring through countless websites to find the activity that's just the right fit. We also wanted to create a place where anyone could post and organize activities; especially those smaller organizations which don't necessary have the resources or expertise to create a web portal.

This past year has been difficult for everyone. COVID has isolated us and kept us from doing the things we love. That is why once all of this is over, we're going to need to get out, be active and socialize more than ever. This is why we think the timing for a website like Social Pitstop couldn't be better. We hope that we can help fulfil those needs that we've all had to suppress for far too long.

Being a small team, we have to start small. That is why we decided to start with just one city, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Being our own city and a wonderfully active city, it is the perfect starting point. Our objective is simple, if you're in Ottawa, Social Pitstop is the “go to” to find sport and social activities. Once we reach that objective, we'll start expanding to other major cities and hopefully accomplish the same. If you're from another city, worry not, you can still post your activities as Social Pitstop supports any city! We are just not actively trying to grow our activity and organization database in your city just yet!

While concentrating on growing the Ottawa user and activity bases, we are also working hard to bring you more useful functionalities. We're currently working on adding registration support so that you can register for your favourite activites directly via the Social Pitstop website. We also have a bunch of other functionalities down the line like tournament management, league management, multilingual support, mobile app and more.

We hope you enjoy Social Pitstop as much as we've enjoyed making it. If you do like it here, don't hesitate to tell your friends about it! The more the community grows, the more we can make the website grow.
